Matt Walker, the First Officer of the Coomera Valley Rural Fire Brigade, has been honoured with the QBANK Everyday Heroes Award in the Dedication category.
His leadership and selfless commitment to the community during his eight years of volunteer service, particularly during a devastating 2023 storm on the Gold Coast, earned him this prestigious recognition.
Despite his own home being severely damaged, Matt spent 15 consecutive days on the frontline, leading critical recovery efforts.
