Gold Coast Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an altercation involving 11 people that led to a man being hospitalised.
Emergency services were called to Goodwin Terrace in Burleigh Heads around 10pm on Friday, August 2 after reports of a grievous bodily harm incident.
The altercation reportedly was between a group of six (four men and two woman) people and a family of five.
It is understood the disturbance occurred in the area between Burleigh Pavilion and the Burleigh Heads Surf Life Saving Club.
A 53-year-old Victorian man suffered multiple facial injuries during the incident and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for surgery.
The two groups were not known to each other.
Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly anyone with mobile phone footage, to immediately come forward.
