Biggera Waters couple celebrates $4.4 million life-changing win
A Biggera Waters man has won $4.4M at a local venue
What’s happening
Tears of joy streamed down a Biggera Waters man’s face on his drive to work after bagging a staggering $4.4 million prize.
The Gold Coast resident scored the top jackpot in draw 333, drawn Sunday 9 November 2025, and looks forward to a total prize of $4,408,359.90.
The winning man shared that his multi-million-dollar winning ticket was a spur-of-the-moment decision made while out for lunch.
His winning entry was purchased at Dublin Docks, Harbourtown Shopping Centre, Harbour Town Drive, Biggera Waters.
Why it matters
The man described the moment as life-changing, saying the win will set him and his partner up for the rest of their lives.
“I cried on the way to work this morning. It’s been an emotional 24 hours to say the least!” he said. “My partner and I surprisingly slept like a baby last night. I was unsure if I should go to work today, but here I am. So far, it’s been pretty hard to focus, and I’m feeling a lot spacier than normal.”
He added that he rarely plays and usually only buys a smaller ticket. “It’s crazy because I’m not even a regular player. Whenever I play, it’s more or less a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing,” he said.
“When I was out for lunch on Sunday, I decided to play a game. I would usually only play a 7 Spot ticket, but something pushed me to play the 10 Spot. While we were in the middle of eating, we noticed the jackpot had gone off in the club. Murmurs were going around with everyone wondering if it was them. We never thought it would be our ticket. When the penny dropped that it was us, the adrenaline just started pumping through my body.”
He said the prize will give them financial freedom they had only dreamed of. “It’s absolutely life-changing for us! It’s going to set us up for the rest of our lives. We’ll finally be able to buy a house and buy it outright, too. We’ve been wanting to buy a house, but it always felt out of reach. It feels like a weight lifted off our shoulders, and that we can just enjoy life now.”
