Budget Bonza brings GC bonanza
Budget airline Bonza has officially started its Gold Coast to Darwin route with the first flight landing in the NT on Tuesday and the return journey landing on the Coast this morning (Wednesday, 20 March).
Bonza will operate two return flights per week between the two cities. Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans said the new direct route between Gold Coast Airport and Darwin would provide considerable economic, tourism and business opportunities between the regions.
"The Gold Coast to Darwin route has long been an underserved market, so we are thrilled that Bonza has recognised its potential,” said Ms Evans. “This direct service signifies a new era of convenient connectivity for travellers– eliminating the need for transits and more time to enjoy both regions.”
Bonza CEO Tim Jordan said the airline was working to bring more flight choices for Gold Coast and Darwin customers. “With school holidays on the horizon, we’re looking forward to seeing our customers surfing on the Goldie or relaxing on a sunset cruise along the Timor Sea,’’ said Mr Jordan.
