The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 roars into action this week in the penultimate round of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship.
Now a staple on the Supercars calendar, the Gold Coast event is marking its 30th birthday.
The on-track action starts this Friday (October 25) and key roads in the Main Beach and Surfers Paradise will be closed to accommodate the races and crowds.
Headlining the weekend will be two 250-kilometre Supercars races, to be held on Saturday and Sunday.
Support categories including the TGRA GR Cup, Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, V8 SuperUtes, and Aussie Racing Cars will provide thrilling entertainment across the three days.
Gold Coast Police are working with the event organisers to minimise disruption but motorists who are not going to the event are being told to consider alternate routes.
Gold Coast Highway will be reduced to one lane in both directions between Waterways Drive and Surfers Paradise Boulevard (near Golden Gate Resort) until October 28.
Gold Coast Highway will also be reduced to one northbound lane from Thomas Drive to Waterways Drive until October 28.
Various side streets within Main Beach and Surfers Paradise will also be affected, with access restricted for residents and businesses.
Public transport services, including buses and the G:Link light rail, will continue to operate, with some adjustments to routes and timetables.
