Crime blitz nets 42 people on 115 offences
A blitz on Gold Coast crime has led to 42 people being charged with 115 offences across the Gold Coast.
Police from Taskforce Guardian worked alongside local police across to target repeat offenders between August 12 and August 20, with 36 youths being among those charged.
During one operation, the task force targeted Helensvale train station leading to nine arrests.
“The extra boost in boots on the ground from Taskforce Guardian allows us tactically target key areas with a high-visibility presence to deter and prevent offending,” Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said.
“Our focus is on keeping our communities safe and Taskforce Guardian is another tool for local police to utilise in enhancing our proactive disruption of youth offending.
“This is the Taskforce’s second deployment to our district, and we are committed.”
