Easter school holiday happenings in the Hinterland
Easter school holiday happenings in the hinterland
A quarter of the school year is now over, and as we head into the cooler months, it’s the perfect time to get the kids out and about to these free or low-cost activities on the western side of our beautiful Gold Coast.
Mudgeeraba Parkrun
Saturdays 6:55am at d’Arcy Doyle Park, Mudgeeraba
Cost: free
Unless the park is flooded, every Saturday about 200 runners, walkers, dogs, and babies in prams complete this 5km course together. We highly recommend visiting one of the local cafes afterwards for a well-earned treat!
Easter Egg Hunts
Cost: free
Saturday 30 March 8:30am at Ingles Park, Wallandra Rd Tallai
Sunday 31 March (Easter Sunday) 1:30pm at the Wallaby Hotel, Mudgeeraba
Monday 1 April 10am-2pm at Warri Park Mudgeeraba
Other kids’ activities such as face painting and sausage sizzles will also be available, as well as a much-needed coffee for the grown-ups.
Earthly Essentials Crystal Suncatcher Workshops
Wednesday 3 April – Friday 12 April various times at Earthly Essentials Crystal Shop, Railway St Mudgeeraba
Cost: $14 per person
This is a favourite of my daughter and the perfect indoor activity if it’s raining (which it probably will be). It takes patience, concentration, and fine motor skills, so is a perfect way to get away from screens. Head up to the Village B&B afterwards for some sustenance.
