Festival of Small Halls Winter Tour comes to the Gold Coast
The Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that takes the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and sends them on the road to tiny halls in communities across Australia.
This year, the winter tour will travel down coastal Queensland, visiting 18 communities before making it to Mt Nimmel Hall in Austinville in the Gold Coast hinterland on Saturday 27 July from 6:30pm.
Artists Quote The Raven and Hailey Calvert will delight audiences with original music, and there will be beer, wine and soft drinks available, as well as fully loaded gourmet burgers.
Quote The Raven is an award-winning Canadian folk duo who are excited to be back in Australia, and Hailey Calvert is a much-loved Australian independent performer.
Mt Nimmel hall is the meeting place for folk living in Austinville, which is nestled between Mudgeeraba and Springbrook in Kombumerri Country. The hall was hand-built by volunteers in the 1930s and is treasured by the people of the close-knit Republic of Austinville.
It promises to be a night of mid-winter merriment, dancing, and delicious food in a town that is one of the Gold Coast’s best-kept secrets.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children.
