Gold Coast Memory Walk and Jog returns
Gold Coast Memory Walk and Jog returns to Pratten Park on 7 June to support people and families impacted by dementia.
What’s Happening?
The 2026 Gold Coast Memory Walk and Jog will take place on Sunday 7 June at Pratten Park.
The event is part of Dementia Australia’s largest annual fundraising initiative.
It brings communities together to get active, connect and support Australians living with dementia.
Families, carers, supporters and locals can walk, jog or run on the day.
Actor and Dementia Australia Ambassador Takaya Honda will join the event as MC.
The day is family-friendly and open to people of all ages and abilities.
Dementia is now the leading cause of death for Australians.
Dementia Australia says the number of people impacted continues to grow.
The fundraiser will support vital services, programs and research.
Funds raised on the Gold Coast will help Dementia Australia support people living with dementia.
They will also help families, carers and people seeking trusted information.
The event also encourages locals to get active for their brain health.
By the Numbers
More than 88,200 people are living with dementia in Queensland, making local support more important.
More than 446,500 Australians are living with dementia, with more than 1.7 million people involved in their care.
Fourteen Memory Walk and Jog events are scheduled nationwide in 2026, as dementia cases may exceed one million by 2065.
Local Impact
The Gold Coast event gives locals a direct way to support dementia care.
Money raised will help Dementia Australia deliver support services and expand life-changing programs.
It will also support research that works towards a future where dementia no longer impacts Australian families.
People who cannot attend can still take part through a MyWay event.
This allows groups or individuals to choose their own date and location.
Registrations for MyWay events are available at memorywalk.com.au/get-involved/mw.
Zoom In
Memory Walk and Jog is designed to be welcoming and accessible.
People can take part at their own pace and in their own way.
The day also gives families and carers a space to connect and share stories.
Dementia Australia says it is the source of trusted information, education and services for people impacted by dementia.
The organisation also advocates for positive change and supports vital research.
Zoom Out
Dementia affects hundreds of thousands of Australians, and its impact extends beyond diagnosis.
Families, carers, friends and wider communities are also affected.
The Gold Coast event forms part of a national movement to raise funds and awareness.
It also encourages people to think about brain health through activity and connection.
What To Look For Next?
The Gold Coast Memory Walk and Jog will bring supporters together at Pratten Park on Sunday, 7 June.
