Join the fight against Dementia at Pratten Park
Lace up for Memory Walk & Jog Gold Coast on 1 June 2025 at Pratten Park. Walk, jog or run to support dementia care.
What’s happening?
The 2025 Gold Coast Memory Walk & Jog is set to take place on Sunday, 1 June at Pratten Park, Broadbeach. Hosted by Dementia Australia, this highly anticipated community event invites participants of all ages and fitness levels to walk, jog, or run to support those impacted by dementia. After overwhelming community support last year, the event is returning “bigger and better for another year.”
Why it matters
Memory Walk & Jog raises vital funds to support Dementia Australia’s essential services, which provide education, advocacy, and resources for people living with dementia, their families, and carers. The event also promotes healthy activity, with research showing that regular physical movement may reduce the risk of developing dementia.
“Memory Walk & Jog is about being part of the community and feeling supported. We are in this together,” said Dementia Australia. “Get active and beat dementia.”
Local Impact
Held right in the heart of Broadbeach, the Gold Coast event brings people together in a visible show of support for dementia awareness. By participating, locals contribute to services that directly benefit their own communities and help spark conversations around brain health and inclusion.
By the numbers
433,300 Australians are estimated to be living with dementia.
More than 1.7 million people are involved in their care.
Participants can choose from 2.5km, 5km, or 10km distances, accommodating all fitness levels.
Zoom In
The Gold Coast Memory Walk & Jog offers something for everyone—whether it’s walking in memory of a loved one, jogging with friends, or volunteering to help on the day. For those unable to attend, the MyWay option allows individuals or groups to host their own walk or jog at a time and place that suits them.
Zoom Out
Across Australia, Memory Walk & Jog events form a growing national movement. These gatherings not only raise money but also foster a sense of solidarity and understanding around dementia—helping to break down stigma and connect people through shared purpose.
