Long contract extension for Gold Coast Suns
AFL cult hero Ben Long has signed a contract extension with the high-flying Gold Coast Suns.
Long has signed for a further three years, locking him in until the end of 2029.
Long, 28, is in his fourth season at the club after spending six years at St Kilda. In 2025 Long kicked a career-best 45 goals to win a spot in the All-Australian squad and to finish sixth in the Suns’ “best and fairest” award.
Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Football Craig Cameron said it was a “no brainer” to extend Long after his career-best 2025 campaign.
“Ben has two really important attributes – he’s hard and unrelenting in his attack on the ball and the player with the ball, and he puts it through the big sticks,” Cameron said.
“His teammates just love playing with him.”
