Paralympic gold medallist and world record holder Madison de Rozario will take the stage at UN Women Australia’s International Women's Day (IWD) event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 7 March 2025 in Brisbane.
This event coincides with the 30th anniversary of the UN’s Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action on gender equality, making it a landmark occasion for celebrating women’s contributions globally.
Why It Matters?
De Rozario is not only an exceptional athlete but also a strong voice for inclusivity in sports.
Having contracted transverse myelitis at the age of four, resulting in paralysis from the waist down, she began wheelchair racing at 12 and debuted at the Paralympics by 15, becoming the youngest Australian Paralympian at the 2008 Beijing Games. Her journey embodies the importance of resilience and representation.
