New Gold Coast park opens this Friday
Lorikeet Park at SkyRidge opens 21 November

What’s happening
Lorikeet Park, the Gold Coast’s newest and most spectacular park, will open on Friday 21 November.
The park sits at SkyRidge in Worongary and covers more than two hectares. Mayor Tom Tate will officially open it at 9.45am at the corner of SkyRidge Boulevarde and Sandpiper Terrace.
Why it matters
The park brings coastal views and large open spaces to the community. It also adds new play equipment and facilities not seen before in Queensland.
Local impact
Families will have access to BBQ areas, picnic spots and wide kick-about spaces. Kids can enjoy the water play area and the custom play zones.
Dog owners will have a fully fenced off-leash dog park. A new quirky art piece is being installed to continue the SkyRidge style.

Lorikeet Park spans more than two hectares, giving space for many activities.
The amphitheatre can host 500 people during events and gatherings.
The stair climb includes 180 steps and adds a strong fitness feature.

The park includes custom designed facilities and play areas that have not been used before in Queensland. These sit beside the large amphitheatre and the new stair climb.

Lorikeet Park brings another major public area to SkyRidge and adds to the overall layout of the precinct.
