Pimpama properties prove popular
The northern Gold Coast suburb of Pimpama has emerged as the most popular place in Queensland to buy a home.
Pimpama was named Queensland’s number one spot in property technology company InfoTrack’s quarterly The Property Market Update.
The Q3 2024 report, which detailed the suburbs with the highest volume of house and unit sales between July 1 and September 30 September this year, also listed Upper Coomera among the top 10 suburbs for houses for the first time ever.
InfoTrack’s Head of Property, Australia, Lee Bailie, said the Gold Coast’s northern suburbs, which acted as a gateway between Brisbane and the beach, were becoming increasingly popular.
“Pimpama has been steadily growing in popularity over the past 12 months and is up from fourth spot last quarter, to now be sitting in top spot,” Mr Bailie said.
“It’s equal distance to the heart of the Gold Coast and the Brisbane CBD makes it a very attractive commuter suburb, and a new train station is also under construction, boosting accessibility.”
Meanwhile, four Gold Coast suburbs featured in the top 10 locations for unit purchases.
Leading the pack was Surfers Paradise (1), while Southport (7), Coolangatta (9) and Broadbeach (10) also proved popular.
Mr Bailie, said the result confirmed the strong attraction of the Gold Coast, with Surfers Paradise holding number one spot for more than two years.
The InfoTrack figures show houses have retained their position as the most popular property type in Queensland with a share of just over 60 per cent. Strata units had a 27.43 per cent share.
