Property giant waits for green light in Robina
Property giant Walker Corporation is hoping the Queensland Government will quickly green-light a 2750-dwelling project in the heart of the city at Robina.
Walker Corporation, which was heavily involved with the development of Hope Island, is awaiting approval of the Lakesview Robina project.
Lakesview is planned to comprise 2750 apartments and townhouses on a massive site adjoining the northern side of Glades Golf Club and to the western side of the Greenheart Parklands.
The proposal, which has been submitted to the State Government under its State Facilitated Development program, allows for 50ha of open space, including 15ha of lakes and wetlands.
The State Facilitated Development pathway is designed to streamline the approval processes for “shovel-ready” projects on infill land to boost housing supply faster.
The site already has approvals in place for 1550 dwellings, but its revised masterplan asked for that number to be increased to 2750. As part of the plan, about 550 affordable homes would be incorporated into the development.
