Up to $200 in vouchers to help Queensland children and young people aged between 5 and 17 years to participate in sport and active recreation activities.
FIRST HOME CONCESSION
Eligibility for the first home concession will be extended to homes with a dutiable value up to $800,000 (up from $550,000 currently).
BRISBANE AIRTRAIN
½ PRICE
Airtrain tickets to and from Brisbane Airport terminals will be half price for six months from 5 August 2024.
What is in it for the Gold Coast?
Coomera Connector (Stage 1), Coomera to Nerang
$650 million in 2024-25 out of a $3.026 billion total spend towards the Coomera Connector (Stage 1), between Coomera and Nerang. Delivered in partnership with the Australian Government.
Gold Coast Light Rail (Stage 3), Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads
$308.2 million in 2024-25 out of a $1.219 billion total spend towards extending the light rail from Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads. This project will connect communities with business and jobs, hospitals and medical facilities, education, shopping, dining, entertainment and sporting centres. Delivered in partnership with the Australian Government and the Gold Coast City.
Homelessness Services
$232.2 million in 2024-25 to provide essential housing and support services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
New Train Stations
$168.3 million in 2024-25 out of a $500 million total spend towards the construction of three new train stations on the Gold Coast at Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac. The new stations will feature onsite parking and passenger drop-off facilities, connections to pedestrian and cycle paths, accessible features such as wayfinding signage and platform access, improvements to nearby intersections, and lighting and CCTV.
M1 Upgrade
$165 million in 2024-25 out of a $1.5 billion total spend towards upgrading the Pacific Motorway (M1) between Varsity Lakes and Tugun. This investment includes widening 10kms of the M1 in both directions between Varsity Lakes (Exit 85) and Tugun (Exit 95), including improvements to the road alignment. Delivered in partnership with the Australian Government.
New Coomera Hospital
$120 million in 2024-25 out of a $1.3 billion total spend to deliver the new Coomera Hospital. $1.3 billion has been committed to address increasing health service demands across the state over the next six years. When operationalised, the new Coomera Hospital will provide 404 new beds, including surgical, medical, ambulatory, sub-acute and mental health inpatient beds for the community. The masterplan will provide for further expansion of services to ensure the growing community’s needs continue to be met. It will also provide emergency department treatment spaces and a satellite medical imaging department, new operating theatres, endoscopy rooms, birthing suites, consult rooms, and mental health support services. Part of the Capacity Expansion Program.
Health and Knowledge Precinct
$4 million in 2024-25 out of a $42.2 million total spend to continue development of a Health and Knowledge Precinct within the Parklands Priority Development Area.
Ambulance Operations Centre upgrade
$13 million in 2024-25 out of a $19.9 million total spend to redevelop the Southport Ambulance Station and Gold Coast Operations Centre, supporting communities through delivery of ambulance response services. Part of the Queensland Ambulance Services Infrastructure Enhancements.
Southport Supportive Housing Tower
$9.3 million in 2024-25 out of a $26.7 million total spend to progress master developer works at the Southport Precinct and progress site works to enable delivery of a supportive housing tower.
Nerang State High
$7 million in 2024-25 out of a $9.9 million total spend to upgrade the existing hall facility.
The Spit Master Plan Implementation Program
$9.3 million in 2024-25 out of a $60 million total spend for implementation of The Spit Master Plan to deliver capital works projects transforming The Spit, Gold Coast's public realm.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
$2.2 million in 2024-25 out of a $5.4 million total spend for an outdoor night activation experience offering a 60-minute luminous journey along a 1.5km trail through Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Part of the Visitor First Experience Fund, delivered in partnership with the private sector.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital
$1 million in 2024-25 to support the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation provide care to sick and injured wildlife. Part of the SEQ Wildlife Hospital Network.
Gold Coast Desalination Plant augmentation
$30.5 million in 2024-25 to continue planning and investigatory works for the Gold Coast Desalination Plant augmentation and associated infrastructure to support water security.
Currumbin Eco Parkland
$9.4 million in 2024-25 out of a $39.5 million total spend for provision of public access, facilitating civil works, land restoration, access to koala vet unit, visitor parking and public amenities.
