Second man charged after victim thrown off building
A second man has been charged after a private car sale at Stapylton went wrong and a man was thrown from a building and left with spinal injuries.
Police allege that around 1pm on Saturday, August 9 three people went to a Stapylton residence where they were involved in a dispute with a 52-year-old resident.
The victim was thrown from a first-floor veranda onto the ground below and then was attacked again while he was on the ground.
The group then fled in a Volkswagen van.
The 52-year-old man sustained serious spinal injuries requiring surgery.
The dispute centred around the purchased of a 2013 Nissan Pulsar from the victim three days before the incident and three men had gone to the house demanding a refund.
Following further investigations, detectives yesterday charged a 33-year-old Forest Lake man with one count each of grievous bodily harm and common assault.
It follows the arrest of arrest of a 40-year-old Lockrose man on 14 August. He has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed/in company.
Both men are due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 17 September.
