Surfers Paradise hosts 10-Year celebration for Friends with Dignity
Celebrate 10 years of Friends with Dignity on 27 June in Surfers Paradise with lunch, stories, music and community support.
What’s happening?
Friends with Dignity is commemorating a decade of support for survivors of domestic and family violence with a special event, Heroes & Hope, on Friday, 27 June 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM AEST. The event, hosted at The Glasshouse, The Island in Surfers Paradise, will celebrate the organisation’s milestone 10-year anniversary with a heartfelt luncheon.
Radio personality and long-time advocate Bianca Dye will lead the program as MC, bringing her warmth and energy to the stage. The afternoon will feature a live performance from 33RED, a dynamic trio renowned for their versatile entertainment, along with stories of impact, raffle prizes, silent auctions, and meaningful connection.
Why it matters
This celebration not only honours a decade of transformative community service, but also shines a light on the “real-life superheroes” the volunteers, donors, and partners, who’ve made this journey possible.
“These people are the reason we’ve come this far. They’ve made it possible for us to change lives,” said Friends with Dignity representatives.
As the financial year draws to a close, the event also encourages attendees to make tax-deductible donations, directly supporting the organisation’s programs.
Local Impact
Since its inception, Friends with Dignity has become a vital support network across Australia, including strong engagement throughout South East Queensland. Programs such as the Sanctuary Program, which transforms empty homes into safe havens for people fleeing violence, and the Little Friends Scholarship Program, which funds extracurricular activities and school needs for affected children, have made real-world impacts in local communities.
The Heroes & Hope event offers attendees a chance to support these life-changing initiatives firsthand.
By the Numbers
1,900+ sanctuaries have been established nationally through the Sanctuary Program since launch.
Over 500 Little Friends Scholarships have been awarded to children impacted by domestic violence.
100% volunteer-driven: Friends with Dignity operates entirely through the efforts of volunteers and in-kind donors.

Friends with Dignity is part of a broader movement addressing domestic and family violence in Australia. With rising demand for services and increasing public awareness, initiatives like this luncheon play a key role in both fundraising and community education. The event also supports the organisation’s long-term sustainability, ensuring it can continue to serve families for the next decade and beyond.
What to look for next?
