Carrara teen charged with attempted murder
An 18-year-old Carrara man has been charged with attempted murder and multiple other charges after a home invasion left a man fighting for life on Tuesday morning.
The teen was also charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, armed robbery, unlawful possession of knuckle dusters, entering a home with intent to commit a crime, unlawful possession of ammunition and two counts of possession of dangerous drugs (testosterone and cannabis).
Detectives charged the man after two people were attacked inside the Plateau Crescent home.
It will be alleged that around 4 am, a 38-year-old Carrara man and a 46-year-old Carrara woman were woken by their dogs and observed a light coming from their lounge room.
The male victim confronted an unknown man in the lounge room, and a fight broke out, during which the male victim was stabbed in his torso, right shoulder and a cut to his face. The female victim also suffered an injury to the chest.
The bandit then fled the scene.
In an earlier unrelated incident, the same man allegedly threatened a 21-year-old man with a knife in the car park of a fast-food restaurant on Hinkler Drive around 1.20 am.
He had met the 21-year-old man after speaking to him on social media about buying four luxury watches.
After threatening his would-be victim, the man was last seen fleeing in a car on Pappas Way.
It will be further alleged that at 3.30 am, the same man attempted to enter a house in Pappas Way but fled when the occupants heard noises and turned on a light.
The male victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. The female victim was treated for her injuries and discharged.
