Peacock pushes it to 5m 30s (11%)
And Paramount+, pushed a full 7m 30s (15%) — including 18 ads in one Lioness episode, only two were from external brands versus their own products.
Plot twist.. you’re starring in your own ad-supported endurance test!

1. One Big Thing: Property giants eye Oasis, heart of Broadbeach
By Marshall Hall
What’s Happening: Sydney-based property group Abacus has listed The Oasis Broadbeach for sale via a global expression of interest campaign, led by JLL and Colliers.
Why It Matters: The beachfront retail and dining precinct includes a Woolworths, 65 specialty stores, bars, office suites, and over 100 car parks, all sitting in the heart of Broadbeach.
As one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic commercial assets, its listing signals renewed international confidence in the city’s investment potential, fuelled by tourism growth and, of course, the runway to the 2032 Olympics.

From Monorails to Multinationals: Built on the former Lennon’s Hotel site, The Oasis opened in 1989 and was once connected to The Star by monorail.
Today, it’s home to institutions like The Loose Moose, The Roosevelt Lounge and Broadbeach Tavern, and still anchors one of the Gold Coast’s busiest retail strips.
What The People Say
“Over the past decade, the Gold Coast has become a core investment market, driven by strong fundamentals including interstate migration, thriving tourism, and anticipation for the 2032 Olympics,’’ Mr Hatcher said, Head of Retail Investments Australia & NZ at JLL.
What to Look For Next: With expressions of interest closing on 3 July and international interest mounting, a record-breaking sale may be on the horizon.

Another Big Thing
After some helpful feedback last week, we wanted to clear a few things up.
Our big weekly newsletter is 100% free and always will be:
No changes, just independent local articles and digital media hitting your inbox every week from a really small, committed team.
Our website is free too:
For a limited time after publishing each article, for making the effort to come to us, you can browse current and recent articles without hitting any blockers.
So what’s with the supporter stuff?
After signing up, you might’ve seen optional supporter offers.
They’re for readers who kinda’ like what we’re doing, or what we’re trying to build, and don’t mind tossing a few coins to their local newsletter wizards..
Supporters get extra benefits like:
Giveaways
Early access to info
Local business discounts (where we can wrangle them), with more coming soon
Full article back catalogue access
Access to engage with our extended local GC community of subscribers
But, we get it, times are tough, and we’re in the same boat:
With no investors, no multi-national media machine, just a self-funded small crew building something one step at a time.
However, based on the feedback we get, people love it and with more of you on board, the bigger and better it can get.
An EOFY OFFER:
So, in short, we need the support of our readers.
And, if you can, could you please sign up to our pretty solid 60% off EOFY offer, where you can get full access for just $32 for the year, only $2.66 a month (wayyy cheaper than chips..).

3. The Gold Coast’s famous riverfront house, Bartinon, bags $18 million at sale
By Marshall Hall
What’s Happening: Bartinon, the Gold Coast’s most storied riverfront mansion, has just sold for $18 million, the buyer, reportedly a Chinese family, with the deal closing in just five days once the new owners got the chance to see it in person.
Why It Matters: Built in the 1980s by finance tycoon Sir Justin Hickey, the 2000 + sqm Sorrento estate was sold by Yi Zhao and Guanghan Chen through Kollosche agents Sam Guo and Julia Kuo.
Not just another local prestige property, this one is Gold Coast royalty.
Once considered one of Queensland’s finest homes, Bartinon has played host to global icons and local moguls alike, cementing its place in the city’s luxury lore.
By the Numbers
6,500 sqm: Landholding with 85 metres of river frontage
2,300 sqm: Total living space inside the Caribbean-inspired mansion
$18 million: Final sale price after years on the market
The guestlist (and then some): From Sinatra’s swagger to Whitney’s high notes, Bartinon’s seen it all, including the Rolling Stones, the King of Tonga, and even the Sultan of Brunei.
Basically, if these walls could talk, they’d need a VIP pass.
The estate doesn’t just host royalty, it lives like one, with its own ballroom, indoor spa, solar-heated pool and an all-weather tennis court that’s always game.
What the People Say
“We introduced the buyer and the deal closed within five days,” said Kollosche agent Sam Guo.
What To Look For Next: With the design inspired by a mansion in the Caribbean, see more below.

Brian Cadd portrait unveiled with GoSet Tribute
A powerful portrait of Australian music icon Brian Cadd was formally unveiled this week on the Gold Coast during the GoSet Monthly Lunch. The nearly three-square-metre artwork, painted years ago by internationally acclaimed artist Robyn Ross, was presented to Cadd’s partner Rosie Adsett in a moving tribute supported by the GoSet community.
Following news of Cadd’s recent stroke, Ross offered the portrait as a heartfelt gift to Brian and his family. With the help of GoSet President Bob Pritchard and mutual friend Donna Tunbridge, the painting made its journey from interstate to Queensland.
